A couple of years ago during the Hurricane Katrina aftermath, as I watched with compassion and disbelief the thousands of people in shock and misery, I thought of my self-healing touch practice. The news coverage showed us stories of caring volunteers from all over our country that had come to the aid of our downtrodden fellow citizens. We all witnessed the long lines - people waiting for buses, transportation, and a sheltered place to lay their weary, hurting bones, medical attention, food and water. I remember the dental assistants who came to the Astrodome to paint the toenails of little girls so the smiling little ones would feel comforted and loved. The world saw the tension and chaos in the faces of the mayor, police, fire and National Guard forces. It is from that place of chaos, realizing that more disasters would probably occur, that I felt an inner knowing that self-healing touch can help any person who is suffering. Furthermore, how different could things have been for those individuals if they had known about and used self-healing touch? I actually started visualizing while applying self-healing touch to my own body, that everyone in the Astrodome and anyone surviving that disaster, was doing this one Healing Touch Quick Step®.
